The Grail is an International Movement of women of Christian inspiration who believes it is indispensable to make visible and operational the intervention of women in society, in which a culture of care - caring for oneself, caring for others, caring for the Planet - prevails.
As an International Movement, the Grail was born in the Netherlands in 1921, developed on five continents and grew in diversity and multicultural experience. It is currently active in 20 countries. It has Consultative Status in the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
It began in Portugal in 1957. It was established as a Social and Cultural Association in 1977, recognized as a Collective of Public Utility in 1985. It has devoloped dozens of projects and iniciatives, namely the Time Bank in Portugal.
The Grail Action Lines approved at the General Meeting for the period 2018-2022 are:
1- Women and Recreation of Citizenship;
2 - Education and Cooperation in a local and global world;
3 - Spiritual Dimension and Religious Diversity.
